Wow, what a GREAT pleasure to see pictures of and read about Dr. Higgins! He was my advisor and my Major was Biology so I was doubly blessed to know him well. So many fond memories, one of which was learning to 'sex' Black Ducks at the Blackwater Wildlife Refuge on the Eastern Shore. I would love to see him again and personally thank him for his guidance, kindness and dedication to teaching. Oh and he didn't give too many 'A's he told me, after he gave me one!!

I had Professor Higgins for Zoology in the spring of '66. His exams were very tough, but after my first disaster I learned to think and study step by step ( "Trace the development of the circulatory systems from amphibians through mammmals"). After that you couldn't help but ace them IF you studied (How many exams do you remember from 40 years ago?). He is one of my college professors that I remember clearly and with good memories! Have a great retirement!.

Professor Higgins was a major reason why I enjoyed Wesley College so much. He was more than a great professor. He was a class act, he treated everyone like he'd known them all his life, and was one of the friendliest people you can ever hope to meet. He also obviously had a lot of respect for himself because he always made it a priority to be healthy and stay in shape. I hope he's having the great retirement that he deserves.
