For Lance Balderson ’61 , the unexpected highlight of his career happened about three years ago when he received a letter from the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Balderson dismissed it as just another solicitation from another museum seeking membership dues. But there was something different about this letter. Indeed, the world-renowned gallery wanted something, but it wasn’t money. It wanted one of his works.

During the Junior College Athletic Alumni Brunch at Homecoming Reunion Weekend this year on Oct. 8, former coaches Bob Andrus and Jim Wentworth were both presented with Lifetime Wesley Society Awards which recognizes individuals and organizations who believe in the mission of Wesley College.



Winning One For Ben

For the past couple of years, Ben has been one of the first students I see in the morning and one of last I see in the afternoon at my job as a science teacher at Dover High School. Though I haven’t had him as a student since ninth grade Honors Biology, his big blue backpack full of his baseball equipment always sat in my classroom – until last October.

In a ceremony held on Oct. 7 at the Schwartz Center for the Arts in downtown Dover, Wesley College inducted 14 new members into the school’s Athletic Hall of Fame.
